01Overview

What the XNP-C6403RW is

The Hanwha XNP-C6403RW is a 2MP AI PTZ camera on the Wisenet7 platform, purpose-built for wide-area monitoring across critical infrastructure, large industrial yards, and public spaces where standard PTZs leave coverage gaps.

A 40x optical zoom lens (4.25-170mm) combined with full 360° continuous pan and vertical tilt control lets one camera survey a broad area and zoom to points of interest that fixed cameras cannot reach.

AI-powered object detection and classification for people and vehicles, plus intelligent auto-tracking and target lock tracking, enable operators to monitor and follow activity across large areas with minimal manual joystick input.

Built-in infrared illumination reaches approximately 200m in complete darkness — appropriate for airport runway perimeters, highway-adjacent fence-lines, and industrial site boundaries where standard 40m WiseIR falls short.

The integrated wiper and lens heater actively maintain optical clarity through rain, dust, and snow without manual intervention — the practical enabler for 24/7 unattended outdoor deployment where manual lens cleaning is impractical.

Housing carries IP66, IK10, and NEMA4X ratings, suited to exposed outdoor positions where both weather resistance and impact protection are required.

Extreme WDR and image stabilisation handle mixed-lighting and high-vibration mounting environments.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the XNP-C6403RW

40x Zoom for Long-Range Perimeter

4.25-170mm covers wide monitoring at 4.25mm and pulls in identification-grade detail at 170mm — single PTZ handles what multiple fixed bullets would need on long fence-lines and access roads.

200m IR Beats Standard 40m WiseIR

Extended IR reach materially changes what a single PTZ can cover after dark — airport runway perimeters, industrial yard boundaries, highway-adjacent sites where standard cameras leave dark gaps.

Wiper + Heater Enables 24/7 Unattended Operation

Automatic rain/snow/dust clearance means the PTZ stays optically clear across weather cycles without site visits — practical enabler for critical infrastructure where manual lens cleaning is impractical.

AI Auto-Tracking Cuts Operator Workload

The PTZ follows detected subjects automatically without manual joystick input — meaningful on multi-camera operator stations where one person monitors many feeds.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Airport and Transport Hub Perimeters

40x zoom + AI auto-tracking allow a single XNP-C6403RW to monitor long boundary sections, runway edges, and vehicle access lanes — following detected activity without manual operator intervention.

Industrial Yards and Loading Terminals

IK10 impact resistance + AI-driven perimeter detection + wiper + long-range IR support 24/7 unattended monitoring of large industrial site perimeters through Australian weather cycles.

Critical Infrastructure

Substations, water treatment facilities, and telecommunications sites benefit from IK10 impact resistance, AI perimeter detection, and long-range IR — supporting secure monitoring of geographically distributed critical assets.

Public Precincts and Council Wide-Area Coverage

City centre precincts, sports grounds, and community facilities — one PTZ covers broad public monitoring with wiper handling rain and 200m IR sustaining coverage overnight.

Installation & setup

  1. What is in the Box

    • Hanwha XNP-C6403RW PTZ Camera x 1
    • Mounting Bracket & Hardware x 1 set
    • Quick Start Guide x 1

  2. Installation Requirements

    • Power: PoE — verify switch/injector budget for PTZ + heater + wiper motor.
    • Mounting: pole, corner, or wall — outdoor PTZ housing.
    • Positioning: allow unobstructed 360° pan sweep; verify no false-tracking triggers (e.g., swaying trees) in prime coverage zone.
    • Sealing: preserve IP66 rating by sealing all conduit and cable entries.

  3. App/Software Setup

    • Access via web viewer, or add to Hanwha Wisenet WAVE or SSM software.
    • Configure preset positions for common investigation angles.
    • Configure AI analytics + auto-tracking parameters: subject classes, tracking speed, target lock timeout.
    • Set up scheduled patrol routes or automated preset cycling for baseline coverage.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the XNP-C6403RW

Q.01

Q: What's the practical difference from a standard PTZ?
A: Two things: (1) 200m IR reach vs the 40m WiseIR standard on outdoor bullets/domes — enables coverage of long perimeters after dark. (2) Built-in wiper and lens heater — maintains optical clarity through rain, snow, and dust without manual intervention, enabling 24/7 unattended deployment.
Q.02

Q: How far can the 40x zoom reach effectively?
A: The 4.25-170mm range covers wide-area monitoring at 4.25mm through to identification-grade detail at 170mm. Effective range depends on target size and lighting — for reference, a person at 100m occupies materially more pixels at 170mm than a person at 500m at 170mm.
Q.03

Q: What does auto-tracking do?
A: When AI detects a subject (person or vehicle), the PTZ automatically pans/tilts/zooms to follow that subject through the scene without operator manual joystick input. Target lock keeps the PTZ on a specific subject even when multiple are in frame.
Q.04

Q: How is the wiper controlled?
A: Can be triggered manually via web viewer, or configured to auto-activate on rain detection or scheduled intervals. Practical impact: no site visits to clean the lens after storms.
Q.05

Q: What operating conditions does the housing handle?
A: IP66 (water jets from any direction), IK10 (impact resistance), and NEMA4X (corrosion resistance). Lens heater additionally handles cold and humid conditions to prevent condensation on the lens element.
Q.06

Q: What field of view does 360° pan give me?
A: Full unrestricted rotation — the PTZ can point in any horizontal direction without stops. Combined with vertical tilt, the PTZ can survey almost all of its surroundings from a single mounting position.
Q.07

Q: Is this suited to critical infrastructure with vibration?
A: Yes — the PTZ includes image stabilisation to maintain imaging clarity even in high-vibration mounting environments (pole mounts near roads, industrial equipment adjacent installations).
Q.08

Q: Can this integrate with third-party VMS?
A: Yes — supports ONVIF PTZ profile for standard third-party integration including pan/tilt/zoom control from the VMS operator interface. Test PTZ control latency with your specific VMS before large rollouts.
